Quick fixes

My daily reminder isn't showing up

First, make sure reminders are switched on in VerseTurtle and set to a time that hasn't already passed today. Then check that notifications are allowed for the app in your phone's system settings — that permission is the usual culprit. Some phones also have battery-saver modes that hold notifications back, so it's worth peeking there too.

I upgraded to the Golden Shell but don't see it

Purchases run through the App Store or Google Play, and now and then they need a nudge to sync. Look for a “Restore purchases” option in the app's settings and give it a tap — that reconnects your upgrade. If it still doesn't appear, email us and we'll sort it out.

I don't see the words of Jesus in red

Red letters are part of the Golden Shell, and they switch on automatically when you upgrade. If they've gone quiet, open Settings and check the “Words of Jesus in red” switch — it may simply have been turned off. And remember they only appear where Jesus actually speaks, so a page of Old Testament history will read in regular ink.

The verse looks the same as yesterday

A new verse arrives once per day. If you've already read today's, you're simply ahead of the clock — the next one is on its way tomorrow. You can always dip into the full Bible or your collection in the meantime.

I want the modern wording instead of the older English (or vice-versa)

You can switch between the King James and World English translations whenever you like. Look for the translation toggle in the Bible tab, and pick whichever reads best for you — you'll notice the colors shift gently to show which one you're in.

Have an idea, or a verse you love?

We'd genuinely like to hear it. If there's a theme you'd like to see, a verse that's carried you through, or a small thing that would make VerseTurtle better, send it to hello@verseturtle.com — the same suggestion box that's built into the app. New waves of verses are chosen with readers in mind, and yours might be exactly what we add next.

Where do I get the app?

VerseTurtle is on both stores — pick yours and you'll be reading today's verse in a minute or two:
